Locomotive 110 is truly a historical treasure. Although orginally built on an assembly line at Vulcan Iron Works in 1927, many of her components were crafted by folks whom we would identify as true craftsmen of their day. Because of that, and through countless hours of historical research, ninty percent of her original parts will go back on the locomotive as she is being restored. The other ten percent will be changes made because she must meet today's standards and regulations required of an operating steam locomotive. Our current plan is to restore the locomotive to operating condition within 6 to 10 years. Of course we know that none of this could happen without your support and contributions. So thanks again!

In 2027, locomotive 110 will be 100 years old. Our goal is to have most of the funding available by that time, and significant progress completed on its restoration.
In order to meet this goal, we will need not only individual support, but corporate support as well. If you have a business and would like to donate services or goods as well towards the restoration, reach out through the "Contact Us" space.
If you have grants available that would be suitable for our project, we would love to talk to you about the possibilities and requirements.
If you would like to donate by check, please mail your check to:
North Carolina Railway Inc.,
P.O. Box 40, New Hill, NC 27562.
Please add 110project in the memo line of your check so that we can direct your donation to this project.

We need people with a variety of skill sets. The NCRM has all sorts of roles that might fit your interests. Critical to 110 right now is fund raising. If you are comfortable speaking to groups or writing grants or know businesses who might be interested in our project, you can reach us using the "Contact Us" space. If you know others who might be interested in our project, please spread the word and share our website link.
If you as an individual would like to work with us on the engine itself, your first step is to become a member of the North Carolina Railway Museum. As a volunteer/member we will show you everything there is to know. Railroad or mechanical experience are helpful, but not necessary.
